Session 1: Opportunities and Challenges with Qualified Opportunity Zones

Moderator: Ruth Mattson, Vacovec, Mayotte, & Singer

Description:  Tucked inside the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was a fascinating tool for deferring and reducing capital gains.  Qualified Opportunity Zones present powerful tools for taxpayers who have large capital gains and who plan to develop qualified properties or businesses.  For indirect investors who are not directly involved in real estate development or local manufacturing, hear about the complexities, risks, and benefits of Qualified Opportunity Funds. Together we will explore when, why, and how our clients might use this tax strategy.

Session 3: Optimizing Tax Alpha: Strategies for Reducing Portfolio Tax Drag
