David E. Appel is Managing Partner of Appel Insurance Advisors, LLC. A 1992 graduate of the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, David concentrates his practice with a consultative, service oriented approach to personal and business insurance planning. His primary focus is in generation-to-generation wealth transfer goals, as well as helping clients protect their families and businesses from the financial pitfalls of death, disability, and the drain of long term care expenses. David has maintained a successful life insurance focused practice for over 28 years.
David was highlighted in NAIFA’s National publication," Advisor Today”, in July 2004 in an article entitled “Four under Forty” portraying four top Advisors and community leaders in the United States under the age of 40.
David was the past President of NAIFA Boston, and served on the NAIFA- Massachusetts State Board. He is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and served on their Board. He is one of a few Licensed Insurance Advisors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®) designations. Recognized nationally, David has spoken at life insurance industry meetings internationally and throughout the United States.
David is actively involved with several philanthropic organizations.
David resides in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts with his four children, Alexandra, Jared, Georgia, and Caroline
|| Whitney Johnson, O'Connor Professional Group
Whitney Johnson, is the Director of Marketing at O’Connor Professional Group (OPG). In this role, she is responsible for new business development, referent relationships, and ensuring families and professionals understand the services offered by and extensive capabilities of OPG to address behavioral health issues. Prior to joining OPG, Whitney was Founder & CEO of an international nonprofit that provided health and psycho-social support services to young people living with HIV. Whitney’s work received recognition and she was named a World Economic Forum Global Shaper in 2012, attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in 2014, was guest speaker at Chicago Ideas Week, and has been interviewed on several news outlets. She leverages 10 years of experience in programmatic operations and business development.
Whitney earned a B.A in Psychology from Colorado College and is a Certified Health & Wellness Coach. She lives in New York and enjoys hiking, surfing, snowboarding, and yoga.
Amy R. Lonergan, Attorney at Law, Day Pitney LLP
Amy Lonergan is a partner in the Individual Clients department at Day Pitney. Amy assists individuals and families in all aspects of estate and tax planning. Her practice focuses on developing complex plans that incorporate sophisticated strategies to transfer wealth to the next generation while minimizing taxes. She is particularly skilled at advising business owners, entrepreneurs, real estate developers and private equity principals in all aspects of estate planning and wealth transfer strategies. Amy regularly serves as a professional trustee of private trusts, counsels individuals and financial institutions regarding probate and trust administration issues, and advises on all matters related to probate and fiduciary litigation.
Deirdre Prescott, CDFA ®, Sandy Cove Advisors
As the founder of Sandy Cove Advisors, Deirdre works with her clients to develop customized solutions to integrate their wealth transfer, philanthropic, tax and investment objectives. She is deeply devoted to the philosophy of education and partnering with her clients to ensure they understand and are able to participate in the management of their wealth.
Deirdre is a Past President of the Boston Estate Planning Council, served on its Executive Committee for five years and also served as a two-term board member. She sits on Providence College's National Board of Overseers and is on their Greater Boston President’s Council. Deirdre is also a member of The Boston Foundation’s Professional Advisors Committee, a Board Member for the Norwell VNA and is engaged in many volunteer activities. Deirdre has 25+ years in wealth management and private banking prior to founding Sandy Cove Advisors. Held senior Private Client positions at BNY Mellon and Lehman Brothers.
Deirdre lives in Cohasset with her husband and young adult children. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and staying active playing tennis, golf and cycle spinning.
