The Council Outreach Committee invites you to attend this webinar to learn more about the qualifications for and many benefits of the Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®), and to speak with members who already have the AEP®.  If you are a recent AEP® designee who would like to learn more about the benefits, the committee welcomes your attendance as well.

Description:  
As an affiliated council of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC), BEPC has the honor and privilege of nominating qualified individuals to apply for the Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation through the “AEP® Council Nomination Program.”

The only graduate level, multi-disciplinary credential in estate planning, the AEP® designation is awarded to professionals who meet requirements of education, experience, knowledge,  and professional reputation. Each year BEPC makes recommendations to NAEPC regarding qualified members with at least 10 years of estate planning experience who may qualify for the AEP®.  In addition to BEPC’s own nominations, there are other ways to obtain the AEP® designation, which will be explained during the session.

Presenters: 

William D. Kirchick, Partner

William D. Kirchick is a partner in the Boston law firm of Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP. His practice is primarily in the areas of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Mr. Kirchick received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan and his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where he was an editor of the law review. He is past chairman and a charter member of the Boston Bar Association’s estate planning committee and a member of the Boston Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Section, and he served on the executive committees of the Taxation Section and the Probate Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Mr. Kirchick has also served on the MCLE Estate Planning and Administration Curriculum Advisory Committee. A member of the Norfolk and Plymouth Estate Planning Council and the Planned Giving Group of New England, he is also a past president of the Boston Estate Planning Council and recipient of the Council’s 2004 Estate Planner of the Year award. Mr. Kirchick is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law, is noted as a “super lawyer” in Boston Magazine, has an Accredited Estate Planner designation from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC), and is a current member of the board of directors and president elect of NAEPC.

Judith A. Saxe, AEP®, CAP®

Judith Saxe is the director of research and education for wealth strategies and a senior wealth strategist at CIBC Private Wealth. Judith has over30 yearsof industry experience counseling high net worth individuals, corporate executives, owners of closely heldbusinesses and multinationals on sophisticated estate planning designs and strategies. She joined the firm in 2003 from Ernst &Young LLP, where she was the New England-area director of estate and business succession planning. Previously, Judith practicedlaw with a specialty in estate planning at major firms in New York City.

Judith served on the boardof directors of the National Association of Estate Planning Councils (NAEPC), following an11-year tenure on the executive committee and board of directors of The Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC), where she wasnamed as president from 2013-2014.


Michael Panebianco, AEP®

Michael advises and represents individuals and families on their estate and tax planning, probate, and trust administration needs, and represents individual and corporate fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and charitable organizations on trust, tax, and other legal matters.

Michael enjoys developing creative solutions to meet the client’s needs. For example, he assists fiduciaries and beneficiaries in modifying existing trusts that, due to changed circumstances or a change in the law, do not carry out the decedent’s wishes as effectively or efficiently as desired – which in some instances involves moving an existing irrevocable trust to New Hampshire, which has very favorable trust and tax laws. With his clients’ needs in mind, Michael has assisted in the drafting of legislation to amend NH trust and estate laws and has testified in the NH senate and house regarding same.

Michael is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida, and New York. He earned his LL.M. (Taxation) at Georgetown University Law Center; is a certified AEP® (Accredited Estate Planner®) by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC); a member and past president (2013-2014) of the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council; a former chair of the Trust & Estate Section of the NH Bar Association; current Board member of NAEPC and vice-chair of the Council Relations Committee of NAEPC; active member of the Boston Estate Planning Council; and he formerly taught Wills, Trusts & Estates at the UNH School of Law.

Registration requires two steps:

2. Follow the link provided in the email confirmation to register on the GoToWebinar platform.

 

Your registration is incomplete until you register via GoToWebinar. Once you register via GoToWebinar, you will receive a final confirmation email with the details on connecting to the live presentation on October 7, 2020 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM ET. BEPC's educational events may meet the requirements of Rule 15D under the Massachusetts Establishment and Administration of Mandatory Professional Education for the Practice of Public Accountancy.
 
BEPC is also a CE Sponsor through the CFP Board. BEPC applies for CE credit approval through the CFP Board for our educational events.

BEPC issues certificates of completion for educational events. The certificates list the number of CPE credit hours or CE credits awarded for the event. The certificate will also state if the seminar was approved by the CFP Board for CE credit.
