2026 Heckerling Recap Webinar: Panel Discussion

Webinar Description

The panel discussion will cover the highlights of the 60th Annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning that was held from January 12-16, 2026. The presentation will cover recent estate planning developments as well as a summary of the more important sessions during the week-long program.


Panelists

Richelle Maguire
Partner, PKF O'Connor Davies

Richelle works in the Private Client group with over 20 years of experience providing income, estate and gift tax planning, consulting services and tax compliance. Her clients include high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates and private foundations. 

Richelle works with a broad range of clients in a variety of industries. She also has experience working with non-traditional families including same sex and unmarried couples.

As a result of her high level of personal service and accessibility, Richelle develops strong relationships with her clients and advises them on tax planning, compliance and consulting, trust, estate and gift matters and philanthropic planning. She works closely with other advisors to ensure that planning strategies are streamlined, implemented and consistent with her clients’ financial goals.

 

Imelda Monaghan
Partner,Wilchins, Cosentino & Novins

Imelda Monaghan concentrates her practice in the areas of trust and estate planning, including estate administration, trust administration and taxation. Imelda works closely with clients to implement a comprehensive estate plan that meets the family’s goals. She is knowledgeable about all aspects of estate tax, gift tax and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. 

She advises fiduciaries about probate, estate taxes, trust funding and administration. Imelda also works with business owners in forming entities and business succession planning. Imelda Monaghan teaches the Estate Planning class at Boston University Law School Graduate Tax Program. 

 

 

 

 

Judith Saxe
Managing Director, CIBC

Judith A. Saxe is a senior wealth strategist and the director of research and education for Wealth Strategies in the Boston office of CIBC Private Wealth. She provides customized estate planning services to clients, including income and estate tax, philanthropic, multi-generational, financial, asset protection, business succession, insurance, and fiduciary planning. She works collaboratively with relationship managers, clients, and their advisors to develop and implement integrated wealth plans and educate clients and their families about planning options and strategies.

Judith has over 30 years of industry experience counseling high net worth individuals, corporate executives, owners of closely held businesses and multinationals on sophisticated estate planning designs and strategies. She joined the company in 2003 from Ernst & Young LLP, where she was the New England-area director of estate and business succession planning. Previously, Judith practiced law with a specialty in estate planning at major firms in New York City.

 

Heidi A. Seely
Partner, Day Pitney

Heidi Seely assists families and individuals in all aspects of the broader trusts & estates practice, with a focus on the personal and family relationships at the core of each plan. Heidi has extensive experience in planning for and implementing sophisticated yet understandable strategies to transfer wealth between generations while minimizing tax obligations. She also skillfully supports individuals and fiduciaries in navigating complex estate settlements, including all related asset marshaling, tax return preparation, and management of distributions. In addition, she provides a personal touch in advising on trust matters and regularly serves as a professional trustee of private trusts.

Heidi frequently speaks on all matters relating to her practice and is co-author of The Boston Trustee: The Lives, Laws and Legacy of a Vital Institution. She has been an active member of the Boston Bar Association for more than 10 years and was honored to serve as co-chair of its Trusts & Estates Section. Heidi is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). 

 

Molly Soiffer
Partner, Bove, Lange, Witherell, Soiffer

Molly helps people plan for the future.  She structures her representation around her clients’ needs and goals, whether the concern is tax planning, care of beloved family pet, philanthropy, the prospect of family disharmony, or protecting future generations.  Molly focuses addressing and incorporating her client’s unique concerns into the planning process.   Not only is she deeply committed to the needs of her clients during the estate planning process, Molly also advises and assists families during the administration of an estate after the death of a loved one, often breaking down complicated legal and tax concepts for her clients, Molly is regularly trusted by her clients to serve as trustee and personal representative in their plans.

 In addition to her private practice work, Molly is very active in the Boston area trusts and estate community.  She regularly lectures to other lawyers for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Educations and for Social Law Library and contributes articles to national journals regularly.  She also lectures on ethics (focused on tax attorneys) at the Boston University Law School LL.M Program.  One particular area of interest for Molly is the effect of the Massachusetts estate tax on the non-resident who has Massachusetts property and she has done extensive lecturing and writing on this issue.

Certificates of Completion

BEPC's educational events may meet the requirements of Rule 15D under the Massachusetts Establishment and Administration of Mandatory Professional Education for the Practice of Public Accountancy.
BEPC is also a CE Sponsor through the CFP Board. BEPC applies for CE credit approval through the CFP Board for our educational events.
BEPC also applies for CE credit approval through the American Bankers Association to support CTFA designees.
BEPC issues certificates of completion for educational events. The certificates list the number of CPE credit hours or CE credits awarded for the event. The certificate will also state if the seminar was approved by the CFP Board or ABA for CE credit.
