On May 8, 2023, President Beth Milkovits issued a revised letter to the Chairs of Massachusetts' Joint Committee on the Judiciary regarding BEPC's support of legislation to eliminate the "four unities" that are currently required for joint property, S. 937.
On December 23, 2021, President Steven M. Carr issued a letter to the Chairs of Massachusetts' Joint Committee on the Judiciary regarding BEPC's support of legislation to eliminate the "four unities" that are currently required for joint property, S. 970 and H. 1815. Support of the legislation and the accompanying letter was approved by BEPC's Board of Directors based on recommendation of the Council's Legislative Committee. Thank you to BEPC's Legislative Committee, led by Co-chairs Eric Hayes and Ruth Mattson, for preparing the recommendation and letter on this matter.
